A native of Essex, Connecticut where his family owned and operated the Essex Island Marina, Mr. Schieferdecker’s early years were spent working at the family business. Upon graduation from High School he attended the University of Miami to study Architecture. During his study at the University, he worked for three architects and a construction company. These experiences helped him expand his knowledge in design and construction and would prove valuable in future years.
Mr. Schieferdecker graduated from the University of Miami in 1980, the very same year he married his wife Joelene. They moved to Maitland in 1984 where they have reared two children; A daughter Francine, now a physical therapist at the VA hospital in Miami, and a son, Louis now working on his master’s degree at the Reformed Theological Seminary.
Mr. Schieferdecker owned and operated his own acquisition and development company, Schiefer-Decker Properties, for many years and has developed more than two million square feet of Office/Retail/Warehouse space in the greater Orlando area. In addition, his professional endeavors would include the development of two residential subdivisions, one of which is Stonehill, a 31 lot high-end community in Maitland.
Prior to his election to the Maitland City Council, Mr. Schieferdecker was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission and has also served on the Transportation Advisory Board. Shortly after his election to City Council, with the Mayor resigning to run for the Orange County Commission, he was appointed by the City Council to serve as Mayor for the balance of the resigning Mayor's unexpired term. hschieferdecker@itsmymaitland.com
Linda is a native of Miami, Florida. She has traveled and worked throughout the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. Linda received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 from the University of Cincinnati, attended Florida A&M University, where she received her Juris Doctor Degree in 2005, and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. Linda is a Corporate Attorney; however, her diverse background includes Commercial Real Estate Agent and Property Manager for Florida Properties, Vice President and Owner of Environmental Subsurface Technology for investigations on contaminated and hazardous waste sites throughout the United States, and Project Manager for Environmental and Engineering projects throughout the United States, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. Linda has served the Maitland Community as a member of the Board of Zoning Adjustment, and as Vice-Chair on that Board. Linda lives on West George Avenue, has a daughter, Elizabeth, and is married to Dr. Mark Round.

Phil Bonus has been a resident of Central Florida since 1972. He attended the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1980 (Political Science) and his Juris Doctor Degree in 1982. Phil was first elected to the Maitland City Council, Seat #4, for a 3 year term beginning April 28, 2008. He is a current member of The Florida Bar, The Orange County Bar Association, and The Orange County Legal Aid Society, Homeless Advocacy Attorney Panel. He is also a member of the Collaborative Law Institute, dedicated to divorce in a non-combative, collaborative setting. Phil is President of the Maitland Men’s Club and President-elect, Board of Directors of the Maitland Chamber of Commerce. He owns and heads the Bonus McCabe Law Firm in Orlando, Florida. His areas of practice are Business Law and Litigation, Domestic and Family Law and Litigation, Transactional Exchanges, and Real Property Law and Litigation. His past and present affiliations include Phi Beta Kappa, U. S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, U. S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, Atlanta, United States Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, Charter Member, First Central Florida Inn of Court (#123), Adjunct Professor, Nova Southeastern University, Past Guest Speaker/Lecturer, Institute for Paralegal Education, Past Guest Speaker/Lecturer, Sterling Educational Services (CLE Provider), and Past President, Dommerich Hills Homeowners' Association, Inc. He has served the Maitland community as a Board member of the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board, the Code Enforcement Board, and as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Phil has lived in Dommerich Hills since 1989 with his wife Sandy, two daughters Natalie and Haley Rose (both currently attending FSU), and his dog, Pogo.

Bev Reponen moved to Maitland in 1974. She is a state certified teacher, having received her B.S. degree in biology and sociology from Western Michigan University and her Masters in Education, with a specialty in reading, from Rollins College. Before joining the Council she was a board member of the Lakes Advisory Board for ten years, the Personnel Board for eleven years, and President of the Friends of Maitland's Waterways for eight years. She was the founder and small business owner of Reading Fundamentals Clinic in Altamonte Springs. She taught gifted science classes at Maitland Middle School. She was a founding board member of Celebrate Trees in Maitland, a volunteer tutor at Dommerich Elementary, and an Additions volunteer at Winter Park High School for eight years. Since elected, she has consistently emphasized: development of the Cultural Corridor; conservation and wise use of our lakes, parks, and potable water; and timely response to citizen inquiries and input. As the Chairwoman of the Interim Improvement Committee (Beautification Committee), she has consistently promoted and participated in aesthetic improvement projects in the downtown area.

Ivan was born and raised in south Florida as a first generation Cuban American. After high school he joined the U. S. Marine Corps where he met his wife Kim; also a US Marine. Ivan and Kim moved to Maitland in 1996 and have three daughters that have all attended local Maitland Schools including, Lake Sybelia, Park Maitland, Maitland Middle and Winter Park High School. Jennifer is the oldest and currently continuing her studies at Valencia & UCF while Stephanie is a US Marine currently serving on active duty in Okinawa Japan. Ashley is currently attending WPHS. Ivan is a founding member and managing partner of Elite Financial Partners, located in Maitland serving both individual clients as well as businesses with all areas of employee benefits, comprehensive insurance planning and investment advisory services. His certifications from the American College include, Chartered Life Underwriter, Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, Certified Long Term Care and Chartered Financial Consultant. Ivan and his family have been active members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Maitland since 1996. He has served as the treasurer and served on the finance board. He served on the board of Maitland Softball Association; coached competitive girls fast pitch softball from 12 to 18 years old, and traveled the State representing Maitland. He also coached recreational softball for the local girls in Maitland. He currently is an active member of the Maitland Men’s Club that helps many in need in the community.
