Maitland Art Center and Maitland Historical Society to Host SECOND Community Meeting
Thanks to all who participated in the first Community meeting on February 23rd to discuss the Plan of Merger.
A second offering will be on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 where the leaders of the Maitland Art Center and Maitland Historical Society will host a community meeting to explore and discuss their plan of merger with the community at-large. This public forum will be hosted from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Maitland Civic Center (641 South Maitland Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751-5623). Refreshments will be provided.
Representatives of both organizations encourage public participation and input, as the meeting will provide residents the opportunity to discuss, among other things, how the organizations can best combine to better serve the Central Florida area.
The Maitland Art Center and the Maitland Historical Society formed a Strategic Alliance Task Force in spring, 2009. Findings of the Task Force’s efforts were presented to the City of Maitland Council in December, 2009. A series of community meetings and committees are now being organized to facilitate the process and engage the community at large. The organizations need the support and feedback of the community to help create a cultural hub for art and history in Maitland.
